THE ROLE

With a zest for organising and a passion for WHS proficiencies you will be innovative, in your approach, as you excel to industry standards ensuring compliance across the business and sites.
Driven by a workforce of experienced, trades, labourers and office professionals, and with safety as a greater focus, the business is decisively seeking the right fit in the form of an WHS Officer to join the Company.

Reporting directly to the GM and Project Engineer, this role will see you assist the develop of a construction leader and allow you to run your day, your way, adapting and championing a deep dive, on the current processes in duties such as;

• Daily WHS responsibilities for compliance, company policies and procedures,
• Promoting the culture that supports in the delivery of a safe workplace.
• Reduce risk, raise awareness and improve practices in line with legislation, regulation, codes of practice and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and report on anomalies for improvement
• Attend and present in the weekly Operations meeting
• Develop & monitor safety for sites, ensure certificates are up to date, to mitigate and identify emerging risks.
• You will oversee incident investigations, including reporting
• Champion the Assignar CRM to ensure all compliance is recorded
• Return to work coordination and organising light work duties
• Implement and coordinate evacuation training,
• Conduct audits on high-risk activities and site inspections.
• Provide ongoing health and safety advice to Supervisors, Sub- Contractors, and site workers to eliminate or minimise hazards
• Coach, mentor, and support personnel to continually improve the culture and performance of the project team.

THE ESSENTIALS

• Cert IV in WHS or greater
• Intermediate computer skills
• Proven experience in a WHS, WHSE role
• Experience within building, construction, manufacturing or a similar environment
• Excellent knowledge of WHS regulations and best practices.
• Ability to raise Safety awareness to all staff
