The role
 
Due to winning various tenders, and taking market share, a skilled contractor is required for project work , where they can add value to their resume and the project at hand, while ensuring quality outcomes exceed industry standards.

  • Install pipes for stormwater, sewer, and water mains according to project specifications.
  • Excavate and prepare trenches for pipe installation, ensuring accurate depth and alignment.
  • Backfill trenches and complete restoration works.
  • Conduct testing on pipes to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Digging, grading, and ensuring the trench is at the correct depth and slope (often using lasers or levels).
  • Positioning pipes (PVC, concrete, steel, etc.) into the trench and aligning them properly.
  • Sealing connections using gaskets, cement, welding, or other methods to prevent leaks.
  • Checking alignment and grade
  • Setting up manholes, storm drains and catch basins.
  • Repair and maintenance
  • Following safety procedures
  • Working around heavy machinery, deep trenches, and underground utilities safely.
  • Skills & requirements
  • Ability to read construction plans and site drawings
  • Knowledge of safety standards (trench safety)

The essentials

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction or related fields.
  • Knowledge of pipe laying techniques and installation standards.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Ability to work within our team and be unsupervised.
  • Confined space and Quick cut tickets are an advantage
  • Work environment Outdoors in all-weather Construction sites (roads, subdivisions, infrastructure projects)
  • Flexible with early starts and changing hours
